English Abstract

The HDS efficiency of NiMoS supported on modified H-ZSM-5 was investigated. The support modification was achieved via DS in 3M and 5M NaOH for 30 min and 1h at 65oC DS temperature while maintaining its structural morphology. Modification with NaOH resulted in improving the mesoporosity and external surface area of H-ZSM-5 which are requisite for excellent diffusion of reactants and products. B-Z-3M demonstrates better surafec area and higher percent of DBT conversion of about 86.6% at 4th hour. Extensive characterization techniques were adopted to gain insight into the physico-chemical properties of the support and the catalysts. Surface area and porosity analyzer was used for textural properties information of both the support and the catalyst. The information about surface and type of acidity, the metal-support interaction, morphology, metal charge content and dispersion of active species NiMo-S was explored by SEM, TPD, FTIR, XRD and XPS
