English Abstract

Autonomous robot’s cooperation has many advantages such as adaptability and scalability. However, several challenges are associated with coordination between group of robots and relative motion of the individuals. In this work, we propose two nonlinear cluster space controllers for multi agent formation control and target tracking. The first one is a backstepping controller for a trajectory tracking problem. Lyapunov analysis approach is presented to derive the control laws for all states that make all error states converge to zero. Next, the longitudinal slippage of robot’s issue is considered, as it is hard to be avoided due to the existence of possible obstacles such as sand or ice. To tackle this issue, we design in the second part an adaptive trajectory tracking controller considering the longitudinal slippage ratio of all robots. Lyapunov analysis is also presented to derive the control laws for the system and hence make all error states converge to zero. The controller also eliminates the effect of the slippage ratio through the estimation of its real value. then, as controller parameters usually are chosen arbitrarily and the process is time demanding, a particle swarm optimization algorithm is designed to compute both controller parameters and hence find the optimal value for all parameters. Finally, a more realistic model of non-holonomic robot will be considered. A backstepping sliding mode controller design will be presented. Simulation results of all work is presented and compared to the recent literature work to show the effectiveness of the proposed approaches.
