English Abstract

The increase of distributed generators (DG) and the extensive use of multiple DG units at distribution level have inspired the idea of micro-grid. However, it is a challenging task to operate more than one distributed generation unit in autonomous or islanded mode. In this work, an adaptive cooperative control approach is devised to control the output voltage of a micro-grid taking into account the variations in the operating conditions (such as: load change). The proposed controller is applied to a microgrid that consists of distributed and renewable generators connected to a voltage source inverter. A detailed description of the model is presented and the effectiveness of the control method has been verified using MATLAB Simulink. The results of the proposed technique proved to be robust in cases of load changing and communication network variations with fast response.
