English Abstract
Software Metrics can help a great deal to understand measure, analyze, control and improve software product and process attributes. Given the importance of object-oriented development techniques, one specific area where this has occurred is cohesion measurement in object-oriented systems. But the research on cohesion has only been limited at the class level, whereas the cohesion at the package level is also of utmost importance. Designing cohesive packages means creating packages that offer coarse-grained, yet much focused behaviors. In this thesis we present new package cohesion metrics that we have developed and implemented and also we will discuss the only other package cohesion metric that we have found in the literature, the component cohesion metric by Giancarlo et al, which we have also implemented using the connection criteria that we have come up with in our research. The results of the two metrics are then discussed.
