English Abstract

We calculated the dielectronic recombination and resonance excitation cross sections and rate coefficients of Al-like S³₊ ion at low energies (e < 1.22 Ry) for the process in which the 3s electron of the ground state (3s² 3p)²P is excited to the 3p level of the first excited state (3s 3p²) and the continuum electron is captured to high Rydberg state (n[ ). We included the contributions from the multiplets of the first excited state namely 4P,²D,²S, and ²P. Single configuration and nonrelativistic Hartree-Fock wave functions in LS coupling were employed in the evaluation of the probability amplitudes required in the calculation of the cross sections and rate coefficients. We used cross sections and rate coefficients. We used energy bin of width ec = 0.01 Ry in averaging the cross sections and rate coefficients.
