English Abstract

In this thesis, we present two numerical methods to solve a class of sub-diffusion equation involving a parameter in the range of 0 < α < 1. These numerical methods combine a finite difference in time and linear finite elements in space. The methods use a non-uniform time step to compensate for the non-singular behavior of the exact solution at t = 0. Stability and convergence of our proposed numerical methods are investigated. In addition to this, numerical experiments are carried out to support our theoretical analysis.
